Singing For Snorers
The BBC reports on a fascinating study to see if singing lessons can help to reduce snoring.
The research is being carried out by the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. It is based on initial trials during 1999 by singing teacher Alise Ojay.
The theory is that snoring - and sleep apnea - are often caused or worsened by weak throat muscles. Vocal exercises of the kind used by professional singers might be able to strengthen those muscles.
The clinical trial will be based on Ojay's "Singing for Snorers" course and will last around two years.
