Vanity Tables
Vanity tables have probably been around for as long as mirrors. Style and features have changed throughout the centuries, however the basic function remains the same.
What Is A Vanity Table?
A vanity table is a bedroom or bathroom dressing table designed to assist in the process of looking good. As such the main requirement is the presence of one or more mirrors - some vanity table have three mirrors, a main central one with two at the sides that can be angled as needed.
Types of Vanity table
Most vanity tables will also contain at least one drawer and possibly extra storage designed for makeup, jewelry etc. Many you can buy today come as a set with matching accessories such as a
stool, bench or chair. They may also have built-in lights - the stereotypical star actor's dessing room table and mirror is basically a vanity table, albeit it not in a bedroom setting.
Traditionally vanity tables have been associated with women, however with more men today taking an interest in looking good they are increasingly being used by both genders and there are some more "masculine" modern styles on the market.
At the other end of the spectrum, kids' vanity tables are popular with young girls for playing dressing up games. You can buy themed sets to fit in with popular children's bedroom themes such as "princess" or fairy styles.
