Bedroom Ottomans
The Ottoman isn't only used in the bedroom, it's probably most common in the living room where it can sometimes double as an imprompu coffee table. However many people
buy ottomans specifically to use as a practical and attractive form of bedroom storage.
What Is An Ottoman?
At its simplest, an ottoman can be defined simply as being a footstoool with a padded top. However the word is frequently used to refer more specifically to such a stool that is hollow and can also be used for storage. The top usually either hinges up or lifts off completely. In the bedroom the ottoman is sometimes used as a dual purpose, space-saving piece of storage furniture.
Sizes
Ottomans vary tremendously in size. Many are quite small and can hold a few essentials or possibly a little bed linen. One possible use of this would be to keep a set of linen handy to make up a spare bed.
At the larger end of the ottoman scale, some pieces are large enough to act as a seat for two people. These are sometimes placed at the end of the bed or in a window alcove.
You can buy a huge variety of ottomans in all shapes, sizes and designs. These vary from minimalist white round versions through functional cubes in almost any pattern to highly intricate leather covered stools with carved wooden legs. If you shop around you should be able to find the best ottoman for almost any style of bedroom decor.
