Soleil Sun Alarm™ Clock

Dawn Simulator

The Soleil Sun Alarm Company manufactures and sells the compact Sun Alarm™ Dawn Simulator SA-2002 alarm clock.

A dawn simulator clock works by automatically raising the light level in the morning. This simulates the natural sunset that is missing from so many of our modern lives. It's a lot nicer way to wake up than being jarred awake by an unfriendly alarm!

Sunrise alarm clocks are also sometimes used by people with low level Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or "winter blues".

The Soleil Sun Alarm™ also features the ability to simulate a sunset at night. Soliel describe this as "A great feature for the kids room", however many adults also find sunset simulation to be a great way of gently falling into a peaceful sleep.

The Soleil SA-2002 has a rather unusual design with a squat black base that always makes me think of Robby the Robot! This design is perhaps because the SA-2002 is packed with features including a Nap Timer, snooze button and built in AM/FM radio. It also has the ability to switch on and off at random times - a security feature to make your home appear occupied when you are away.

An original feature of the Soleil Sun Alarm™ is the availability of the SA-300W controller. This optional extra can be bought separately and allows you to use your Sun Alarm™ to control an external light of up to 300 Watts intensity. This could be useful for those who like much higher light levels that are available with the standard B41 bulb.
