Memory Foam Beds
Many people - and stores - talk informally about memory foam beds. I've probably used the term myself on this site. However it's misleading. There's not really any such thing. What Is A Memory Foam Bed?
Making a whole bed out of memory foam would be silly, even a pure memory foam mattress would be overkill. (Such mattresses are usually made with a layer or two of foam on top of a more conventional support). So what's sold as a "memory foam bed" is usually a bed with a memory foam mattress. Buying the complete "package" like this obviously has advantages: sizes and design are guaranteed to match and some manufacturers may include other features. You also have the assurance of buying a full package from a store, brand or range of products that you know and trust.
Do It Yourself
As with everything in this world, premium beds usually come at a premium price. However there's no reason you shouldn't create your own mix 'n' match memory foam bed by combining the bed you like best with an appropriate mattress that you buy separately.A more affordable option might simply be to add a memory foam topper or pad to your existing bedroom setup. That way almost any existing bed can effectively be turned into a memory foam bed.
If (like me) you're a real fan of memory foam then you might also want to consider a set of pillows for that extra touch of comfort and luxury.
