You can buy them in a huge range of styles from simple to ornate. They can be used indoors or, if you're lucky with your climate, outdoors in the garden. Hanging
Like all hammocks, the seated variety need to be hung somewhere - it's that suspension in air that gives the unique feel. To do this a rope at the top is attached to some fixed point like a ceiling, beam or branch. Be absolutely sure that whatever you're attaching to is strong enough to support the weight - otherwise you might not only have a nasty fall but also bring the house down!
