Schnadig Furniture

Schnadig is a long established furniture company with its foundations going back to the 19th century. The company doesn't just make bedroom furniture, you can buy also Shnadig furniture for the living room and the dining room as well as office furniture, entertainment units and more.

History

Technically, the Schnadig company began just over 50 years ago, having been incorporated in 1952 by Lawrence Schnadig. However the company traces its roots back much further to the 1880 Karpen & Brothers and the early 20th century International Furniture Company.

Lawrence Schnadig began his career with the Pullman Coach Company, going on to become its President. After Pullman was sold in 1951, Lawrence went on to purchase Karpen & Brothers and the International Furniture Company to form the Schnadig Corporation.

The company began as an upholstered furniture manufacturer before expanding into the market for tables and later into dining room and bedroom ranges.

Today Schnadig's major emphasis is on its wood and upholstery collections with the individual pieces designed to coordinate with each other.

Schnadig has an expanding presence in the US furniture market. Both R.C.Willey and Finger Furniture have opened Schnadig Elite galleries in some of their stores.

In 2009 Schnadig was purchased by China based Makor International Furniture Co Ltd. Markor had previously been a manufacturer for Schnadig.
