Ready To Assemble (RTA)

O'Sullivan is one of America's top manufacturers of Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) furniture. It has grown to be the eighth largest furniture manufacturer in the US. The company has production facilities in Lamar, Missouri and South Boston, Virginia. In the UK it has its European Headquarters in Cromwell Business Park, Chipping Norton.

History

The company was founded in 1954 by Tom O'Sullivan Sr. He noticed a booming market segment - the need for people to find somewhere to put their TV set. Their television stands quickly attracted support from electronics manufacturers such as General Electric and the company expanded to its new headquarters in Lamar.

O'Sullivan Furniture today produces RTA furniture for both the office and the home. RTA furniture has the advantages of being cheaper and easier to ship than factory assembled. It has the disadvantage, of course, that you have to assemble it yourself.

In the bedroom the O'Sullivan range includes night stands, dressers and headboards.
