Ethan Allen is an international furniture manufacturer and retailer. They are especially well known in their home, the US, where they boast almost 100% brand awareness. The company describes itself as a "one-stop home furnishings resource" committed to "quality, style, service and value".The company makes furniture and accessories for around the home. In the bedroom the products available to buy include beds, bedside tables, armoires, mattresses, pillows and bedding.
History
Ethan Allen started life in 1932 as Baumritter & Co, a housewares distributor. They moved into the production of wooden furniture a few years later and by 1943 owned 11 plants and 3 sawmills. 1954 saw the production of the one millionth Ethan Allen piece - a maple chest that was presented to President Dwight Eisenhower.
Currently the company has a variety of manufacturing facilities, including 2 sawmills. Worldwide they have a network of over 300 retail stores of which many are directly owned. The company employs more than 3000 design consultants worldwide.
