American Drew
American Drew is one of the most well-known US brands of furniture. Their products are
found throughout the home with a special emphasis on bedroom, dining room and occasional
furniture. The company aims mainly at the medium to
upper-medium end of the market and specialises in wood veneer.
The company was founded in 1927 as the American Furniture Company. In 1955 the "Drew
Furniture Company" was formed and in 1970 the two were combined to form "American Drew".
The company is today a division of La-Z-Boy Inc. with it headquarters in Greensboro, North
Carolina.
American Drew don't sell directly from their factory. Instead they prefer people to buy
from local retailers in the US, Canada and around the world.
Popular American Drew collections in their product range include:
|
Cherry Grove
This is the company's classic 18th century style collection, which first went on sale back
in 1960.
Bob Mackie
This range is influenced by fashion designer Bob Mackie and features cherry and other
hardwood veneers.
Jessica McClintock
The Romance Collection was launched in October 2000. McClintock is a renowned fashion
designer famous for her formal wear. These furniture designs were reportedly influenced by
the antiques in her San Fransisco home.
