Bio-Brite Inc manufacture a range of light therapy products. These range from the huge Window Light range down to the patented range of wearable Light Visors. In between their range includes a variety of light boxes of different sizes. This sort of product is often used in light therapy and some people use them for treating low level seasonal affective disorder (SAD) or "winter blues".
SunRise Clocks
BioBrite are perhaps best known for their range of SunRise Clocks. These are dawn simulator alarm clocks. A dawn simulator clock works by automatically dimming the light at night and then slowly raising it again in the morning. This simulates the natural sunset and sunrise that is missing from so many of our modern lives. It's a lot nicer way to wake up than being jarred awake by an unfriendly alarm!
The BioBrite SunRise Clocks you can buy fall into two basic types. The EZ Wake Sunrise Clocks are the most economical and have a single fixed sunset/sunrise cycle of 30 minutes.
Programmable
They also sell more advanced programmable Sunrise Clocks. These have additional features where, for example, you can choose your preferred sunset/sunrise cycle time.
Personally I've had an early model programmable digital Sunrise Clock for some while now and wouldn't be without it. I usually find myself waking up gently and naturally a few minutes before the set time. I can't remember the last time I needed the audible alarm to wake me up.
Definitely one of the best things I've ever bought for my bedroom.
